From an old café called “De Verfpot,” Van Geenen grew into a leading specialist in metal finishing. What started with two brothers, a handful of tools and tons of perseverance has now become a modern family business with 6,000 m² of production capacity, a team of 30 professionals and a focus that is as clear as ever: perfection in metal, right down to the finish.
1977
The start of Grijperij Van Geenen. Nico and Gerrit sell their cars to buy tools and open a workshop in a former café. The first orders: deburring for foundries and chromeries. Hard work, few resources, lots of craftsmanship.
1982
Move to premises in the industrial area of Rijssen. In the midst of an economic crisis, Nico decides to invest in the future: stainless steel (RVS). An unknown material with enormous potential. The direction is set.
1995
The business premises are doubled to 2,500 m². The transition from completely manual to machine grinding and polishing begins. The Van Geenen name becomes known - even outside the Netherlands.
2005
Cleanroom cleaning and packaging are added. A logical step for customers in the semiconductor and high-tech industries. One location, one process, one quality level.
2011-2015
Bart van Geenen joins the company. In 2015, he officially takes over from his father. The third generation stands up, with the same dedication and a fresh look ahead
2016
Start of cooperation with mirrorINOX. Van Geenen becomes exclusive partner in the Benelux for architectural stainless steel sheet material with PVD and nanoINOX® coatings.
2020
New construction: offices, canteen and production space. Total area grows to 6,000 m². Modern technology and clear workflows under one roof.
2024
The new clean room opens. More than 200 m² to meet the highest standards in cleanliness and packaging - Grade 2 and Grade 4, ISO 7.
2025
Van Geenen commissions its own ViwateQ® installation and officially becomes a preferred supplier. In that same year, we launch our updated brand. One clear focus: finishing every challenge.
