Stainless Steel Sheets with Patterned Finishes.

Structured Stainless Steel.

Patterned finishes are structured, rolled stainless steel sheets that combine aesthetics with functional performance. Through a process known as pattern rolling, controlled structures and patterns are applied to the surface of stainless steel sheets. The result: a distinctive appearance combined with enhanced technical properties.

Where hot and cold rolling mainly focus on shape and thickness, pattern rolling is specifically aimed at the surface structure. Using specially designed rolling tools, the stainless steel receives a defined pattern that not only enhances its visual appeal but also makes the material more robust and functional.

Patterned stainless steel sheets are therefore increasingly used in projects where design, durability and performance come together.

Applications of Patterned Stainless Steel Sheets.

Structured stainless steel sheets are widely used across different sectors, including:

  • Architecture
Façade cladding, interiors, lifts, indoor and outdoor spaces

  • Design & Art
Sculptures, art objects and high-end design applications

  • Industry
Mechanical engineering, equipment manufacturing and automotive applications

  • Retail & Shopfitting
Store interiors, shopping centres, escalators, counters and reception areas

Thanks to their combination of visual quality and functional properties, patterned finishes are suitable for both aesthetic and industrial applications.

Benefits of Patterned Finishes.

Compared to flat stainless steel sheet material, patterned finishes offer clear advantages:

  • Improved surface quality

  • Higher resistance to scratches and dirt

  • Optical flatness

  • Increased stiffness and toughness

  • Enhanced technical and mechanical properties

  • A distinctive, high-end appearance

These characteristics make patterned stainless steel sheets a durable and reliable material for demanding environments.

How Does Pattern Rolling Work?

Pattern rolling is a specialised cold forming process. Instead of flat rollers, custom-designed structured rollers are used. These transfer the pattern to the surface of the stainless steel sheet or coil, either on one side or both sides.

The process is:

  • Technically efficient

  • Cost-effective

  • Suitable for both coil and sheet processing

Since only the surface is formed, the core material properties of the stainless steel remain unchanged.

Single- or Double-Sided Patterned Stainless Steel Sheets

Depending on the application and desired appearance, you can choose between:

  • Single-sided rolled (design-rolled / embossed) sheets
Ideal where appearance and scratch resistance are key

  • Double-sided rolled (pattern-rolled) sheets
Offering increased optical flatness, stiffness and distinctive light reflections

We are happy to advise on the most suitable option based on use, environment and design requirements.

Materials and Dimensions of Patterned Finishes.

Pattern rolling is possible on a range of materials, including:

  • Stainless steel (inox)

  • Steel

  • Aluminium

  • Brass

  • Copper

  • Other non-ferrous metals

Custom dimensions for stainless steel sheets:

  • Length: up to 6,000 mm

  • Width: up to 1,500 mm

  • Thickness: up to 2.0 mm
