From ground surface to mirror finish – craftsmanship in every detail
Stainless steel polishing to a high gloss is more than just a shiny result. It is a specialised process – a combination of experience, technique and attention to detail. At Van Geenen, we polish stainless steel, aluminium and other metals to the highest standard. Mechanically or manually, for components, sheets or complete assemblies.
From design to final finish – everything under one roof.
High gloss polished stainless steel is not only visually striking, but also functional: hygienic, corrosion resistant and easy to clean. By polishing stainless steel, a smooth surface with low roughness is created, which is essential in many technical applications.
That is why stainless steel polishing and high gloss polishing are used across a wide range of industries:
Architecture and interior design
Design and art projects
Marine applications and yacht building
Food and pharmaceutical industry
Mechanical engineering and equipment manufacturing
Automotive and aluminium components such as wheels
At Van Geenen, we process a wide range of materials. Our specialists can handle:
Stainless steel polishing (hot and cold rolled)
Aluminium polishing
On request: titanium or other metals
A true mirror like finish requires a controlled and consistent process. At Van Geenen, every stainless steel polishing process is carefully built up in stages:
Pre grinding – removing mill scale, imperfections and scratches
Polishing – multiple controlled steps towards a high gloss finish
Finishing – manual where required, especially for complex shapes
Inspection – checking flatness, reflection, roughness and visual quality
The result: a finish that performs as well as it looks.
Important: any imperfection left during grinding will remain visible after polishing.
Not every polished surface is the same. With stainless steel polishing, we deliver different levels of reflectivity depending on the application.
From standard high gloss finishes to fully mirror polished stainless steel (mirror finish). For applications where only the highest level will do. Internally, we refer to this as Perfect Mirror No. 10®.

Stainless steel polishing rarely stands alone. In most cases, it is part of a broader finishing process.
It is often combined with:
Grinding to a defined roughness (Ra value) – for a controlled base
ViwateQ® Finishing – as an alternative to wet blasting stainless steel
Cleanroom cleaning and packaging – for high tech applications
PVD or nanoINOX® coatings – for colour and protection
Efficient, controlled and under one roof.
Van Geenen takes care of it: smarter, faster and efficient. No fuss, no middlemen - just complete, high-quality finishes from A to Z.
